1954

Pamphile Tardif founded JLP Tardif Assurance Inc. in Saint-Méthode, Quebec (now Adstock), the origin of Assurancia Groupe Tardif.

1972

J. Maurice Tardif takes over the reins of the company founded by his brother Pamphile, which becomes J. Maurice Tardif inc.

1976

Robert Champagne joins the company and contributes to its expansion with the opening of a branch in Thetford Mines.

1978

To continue its development, the company merges with Bélanger et fils assurance and becomes Bélanger-Tardif et associés inc.

2000

Maurice’s sons, Jean-Pierre and Philippe Tardif, take over the company and begin a growth strategy. That same year, the company joins the AssurExperts banner and becomes AssurExperts Groupe Tardif.

2004

The company celebrates its 50th anniversary, marking half a century of commitment to its clients and the communities it serves.

2005

AssurExperts Groupe Tardif strengthens its regional presence by merging with AssurExperts Lauréat Lachance

2006

AssurExperts Groupe Tardif continues its growth with the acquisition of Assurance Sacalabrini in Disraeli

2007

The company adopts the Assurancia banner and becomes Assurancia Groupe Tardif. That same year, it opens a new branch in La Guadeloupe.

2008

Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues its expansion with the acquisition of Assurance Thibault & Gingues in Sherbrooke.

2012

The acquisition of Assurancia Estrie and Assurancia Groupe Laurence strengthens the company’s presence in Estrie and marks its arrival in Montérégie. François Gagné and Julie Laurence also join the shareholder group, ensuring continuity for the next generation.

2016

Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues its expansion with the acquisition of Assurancia Groupe Dupont in Saint-Apollinaire.

2017

Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues its growth with the acquisition of ActiPrima Assurances et Services financiers in Saint-Georges

2018

Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues its expansion with the acquisition of Charlebois Trépanier Assurance et Gestion de risques in Gatineau, expanding its presence in western Quebec.

2023

Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues its growth with the acquisition of Marleau Renaud Assurance et gestion de risques in Gatineau, followed by Assurancia Marcel Hamel in Quebec City, consolidating its presence in Outaouais and the Capitale-Nationale.

2026

Assurancia Groupe Tardif welcomes Justine Dufour-Lapointe as an ambassador. This collaboration marks a new stage in the company’s evolution and highlights shared values of perseverance, passion, and excellence.

Today

More than 70 years after its founding, Assurancia Groupe Tardif has nearly 200 employees across 9 branches throughout Quebec. True to its family roots, the company is already preparing for succession as the new generation of the Tardif family gradually becomes involved in its development.

Driven by its values of innovation, respect, development, perseverance, and going above and beyond, Assurancia Groupe Tardif continues to grow while remaining close to its employees, its clients, and the regions where it was born and grew.
