Assurancia Groupe Tardif respects your right to the protection of personal and sensitive information, in accordance with the laws of Quebec and Canada on privacy protection.
Assurancia Groupe Tardif has appointed Caroline Dubreuil, vice president, training and compliance as the person responsible for the protection of personal and sensitive information within the firm.
Assurancia Groupe Tardif has implemented adequate computer security measures to respect the protection of your personal information. Additionally, Assurancia Groupe Tardif has a policy regarding the protection of personal information. This policy is available upon request at: cdubreuil@assuranciagt.ca.
Assurancia Groupe Tardif has established a separate policy for staff to raise awareness of best practices to adopt in professional activities for the firm.
Assurancia Groupe Tardif may be required to collect personal information about you. This personal information is used exclusively by Assurancia Groupe Tardif to communicate with you, provide you with requested services or information, or send you information that may be of interest to you. Assurancia Groupe Tardif will only use personal information for these purposes, unless consent is obtained. If you do not wish to receive additional information, please let us know by contacting us.
Collection and Use of Personal Information
The firm’s employees collect only the information necessary to obtain insurance quotations and to manage insurance files. This information may be shared internally (within the firm) and externally (with insurers and wholesalers) for the purpose of obtaining insurance quotations and managing insurance files. Consent to the collection and use of personal information is obtained by our brokers at the time the information is collected.
Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure of Personal Information
The firm’s employees have signed a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement regarding personal and sensitive information, including information relating to the firm’s clients. Under this agreement, employees may use the information to which they have access only in connection with the firm’s business activities, in accordance with applicable legislative, regulatory, and professional requirements, and solely for the purposes for which the information was collected. Employees are also required to protect the integrity of the information to which they have access and to maintain its confidentiality. They must not disclose such information unless expressly authorized to do so by their manager or required by law.
Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
The firm retains client records in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including requirements designed to ensure the security of such information, for the period prescribed by applicable laws and regulations.
Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Information
Under the Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (CQLR, c. P-39.1), you have the right to access your personal information, request corrections to it, and withdraw your consent regarding the personal information we hold about you. To this end, Assurancia Groupe Tardif has established a Client File Access Request Policy and a Privacy Policy, which provide comprehensive information regarding your rights and the procedures for exercising them.

In the event of a dispute or complaint regarding the protection of personal and sensitive information, consumers and clients are invited to contact the firm or consult its Complaint Handling and Dispute Resolution Policy.
